Clinical Boss Teaches Clinicians to Package Their Expertise

Mellanie Page’s online education company starts from a blunt premise: insurance will never pay for everything a practitioner knows. Members build courses, CEUs, coaching programs, and communities on top of their existing jobs.

What the Company Is

Clinical Boss describes itself in one line: an online business education platform for licensed clinicians. It teaches how to turn clinical expertise into products that sell outside the insurance system: courses, CEUs (continuing education units), coaching programs, consulting offers, and paid communities, built alongside the clinical work a member already does. The site also says what it does not teach: private practice, insurance billing, or telehealth.

The company grew out of its founder’s inbox. Mellanie Page, a BCBA, executive, and founder of The ABA Collective, built a consulting career in OBM (organizational behavior management) that other clinicians sought to emulate. “A lot of BCBAs started reaching out, asking, ‘How do I do it?’” she told BreakingNewsABA. “How do I create a program, a course, a community, coaching services, consulting services? Insurance doesn’t pay for it.” Her answer became the company. “It’s been really fun to show them other ways, mostly through the science,” she said. “The science is something I translate into my marketing, into my entrepreneurship, into business.”

The audience has since widened past behavior analysts. “That’s now expanded to speech language pathologists, therapists, OTs, others that would also benefit from packaging their expertise online,” Page said. She helps guide them through her podcast and the many resources she offers.

Behavior Analysis, Pointed at Buyers

What separates Clinical Boss from a generic business course, in Page’s telling, is that the curriculum applies behavior science to marketing. The way a clinician pairs with a learner, builds small commitments, and creates behavioral momentum is, she argues, the same way a business builds trust with a buyer. “We’ve taken all of those same principles and applied them to Clinical Boss, where you’re trying to build that same relationship with a buyer, and you’re using behavior analysis to motivate consumer behavior,” she said. A funnel, in her framing, is a series of progressive steps toward action.

Her stock example is the clinician who announces a new supervision program on LinkedIn, lists its modules and price, and drops a link. She responds to that strategy, saying, “One, who are you talking to? What relationship have you built with them?”

The first lesson is the clinical habit of operational definition, applied to an offer. “We just want to get crystal clear first on what you are actually even selling?” Page said. “What is the result of whatever you’re trying to get this person to do?” A clinician selling “behavior consulting,” she argues, is selling nothing a buyer can picture: “What does that even mean to somebody outside of our field? Absolutely nothing.”

“So many people just think of their experience as a service instead of as value.” – Mellanie Page, founder, Clinical Boss (2026)

The structure follows that logic. The Clinical Boss Academy runs 5 modules, from finding a niche and validating an offer through audience building, offer design, marketing, and sales, anchored by branded frameworks such as the Expertise-to-Offer Formula and the Flywheel Funnel. Members choose among 4 paths: coaching or consulting, CEU content, a signature course, or a paid community.

Access is sold in tiers, per the company’s site: a $997-a-year Circle membership with the curriculum, twice-monthly group coaching, and community; a $1,497-a-year tier that adds the company’s own tech stack for funnels, email, and course hosting; and a $4,997 VIP Day, a one-day done-for-you build. Monthly enrollment is currently closed, and all sales are final; no refunds are available for the initial investment.

The Case Page Makes for It

The company’s pitch leans on the same diagnosis Page brings to clinician burnout, which she has argued comes from misalignment and lack of fulfillment rather than from hours. Clinical Boss is her answer to the clinician who loves the work but not the system: a way to serve, she says, that does not run through a payer. “Insurance is not going to get more generous,” she said. “It’s not going to get more flexible. It’s not going to get easier.”

Clinicians considering an online business, she said, get stuck asking, “Is it credible? Is it ethical? Is it really the right platform for my expertise?” Her counter: “You can broaden your impact if you just consider how you can package your expertise differently.”

The company’s framing of scale is deliberately small. People who try it often start with one CEU or workshop, Page said, and the reaction changes when the first income arrives: “They start realizing you don’t have to make this big dramatic change.” Later in the interview, she described the same idea as a path that does not require quitting a job or becoming an influencer. “There’s a gradual path to get there,” she said.

Whether or not clinicians buy the model, Page is not hedging her own view of where the field is headed. “It’s archaic to think the only way we can help or serve is through an insurance model, by being a traditional clinician,” she said.
