Luis has nearly 30 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, and business valuations in the United States and emerging markets. Before founding Mergium Advisors, he spent much of his career with KPMG Corporate Finance, where he served as Partner/Director. He also served as Managing Director of Investment Banking at INTL FCStone (now StoneX) and as Chief Financial Officer for Latin America at The Western Union Company.
Throughout his career, Luis has advised private, family-owned, middle-market, and Fortune 500 companies across a broad range of industries, including healthcare services, education, business services, technology, and manufacturing. He has also completed more than 200 business valuations for transaction, strategic planning, and financial reporting purposes.
Luis holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad del Valle. He is a Fulbright Scholar, a former Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami, and a registered representative with StillPoint Capital LLC, a FINRA/SIPC member broker-dealer.
