A Jonesboro Network Changes Hands

CONWAY, ARKANSAS – Pediatrics Plus announced July 16 that it has acquired Cynergy Rehab Group and Arkids Pediatric Day Centers, adding 12 locations and creating what the companies called one of the state’s largest providers of pediatric therapy and developmental services. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

The combined organization will employ about 2,100 people across Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. The acquired network spans developmental preschools, outpatient therapy clinics and school-based therapy partnerships throughout Arkansas.

Ronnie Norman founded the Jonesboro-based organizations in 2008. Arkids runs licensed Early Intervention Day Treatment (EIDT) centers in communities from Blytheville to North Little Rock. The centers combine specialized day treatment with preschool for children from six weeks to six years old.

“As we looked toward the future, we weren’t simply looking for a buyer,” Norman said in the announcement. “We were looking for a partner that would honor our mission, invest in our people and continue putting children and families first.”

“This is more than an acquisition. It’s two Arkansas organizations coming together around a shared mission.” – Scott Street, CEO, Pediatrics Plus (2026)

All Cynergy and Arkids employees will join Pediatrics Plus. Norman will take an observer seat on the buyer’s board, and Chief Operating Officer Kevin James will stay in a leadership role through the integration.

The Capital Behind the Buyer

Pediatrics Plus entered the deal with institutional money behind it. In January 2025, Leavitt Equity Partners, the healthcare fund founded by former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, invested in the company alongside Atlanta growth firm Fulcrum Equity Partners and Western Governors University, including its investment arm Juvo Ventures. Leavitt’s fund manages more than $400 million.

Founders Todd and Amy Denton stayed on as the company’s largest shareholders, and CEO Scott Street said at the time that the backing left Pediatrics Plus “well-positioned to expand into new markets and enhance our service offerings for the families we serve.”

The Dentons started the company in 2002 as a home-health therapy provider. It has since grown into a multi-specialty organization blending physical, occupational and speech therapy with ABA. As of the January 2025 investment, it served more than 6,000 children a year under brands including The Farm by Pediatrics Plus, Community Connections and Rise Counseling & Diagnostics.

ABA Joins the Expansion List

Applied behavior analysis is on the list of services the combined organization expects to introduce over time, alongside expanded developmental preschool, school-based therapy and family support offerings. Pediatrics Plus is among a growing number of autism therapy-related businesses widening their focus to broader developmental care while deepening their specialty services.

“Families today are often navigating multiple appointments, providers and challenges while trying to get their child the support they need,” Street said. “Our goal is to make that journey easier by providing comprehensive services and expanded resources.”

Families should see no interruption in services, the companies said. Rebranding and signage changes at the acquired sites are scheduled to phase in over the next year.
